Chapter 4 — Noah Notices the Watch
Harrison replayed the footage.
Now that both brothers were standing beside him, the differences became easier to see.
Very small differences.
Aaron wore his watch on his right wrist.
Elliot wore his on the left.
Aaron’s hair was slightly longer near the ears.
Elliot had a tiny scar beside his chin.
But from several feet away…
they looked almost identical.
Noah pointed toward the video.
“Watch.”
Harrison frowned.
“What?”
“The watch.”
The man in the footage reached for a pen using his left hand.
A black watch was visible on his right wrist.
Noah looked toward Aaron.
Same wrist.
“That’s him.”
Aaron nodded.
“Yes.”
Noah then looked toward Elliot.
“So you actually weren’t here.”
“No.”
Harrison exhaled.
The camera had been accurate.
The interpretation had been wrong.
That mattered.
Then Noah looked at the signature.
“How did you copy this so well?”
Aaron looked embarrassed.
“We’ve signed birthday cards for each other since we were children.”
Elliot stared at him.
“You forged my signature because we used to prank Aunt Susan?”
“When you say it like that…”
“There is no better way to say it.”
Harrison almost smiled.
Then he became serious again.
“Aaron, we need to correct the receipt.”
“Fine.”
“And the private dining reservation.”
“Fine.”
“You also entered a staff-only service area using another guest’s identity.”
Aaron nodded.
“I know.”
Harrison looked toward Elliot.
“And you need to explain why you issued a restriction against your brother without telling your mother.”
Elliot’s face hardened.
“That’s a family matter.”
Noah picked up the receipt.
“It stopped being only a family matter when both of you started changing event records.”
Everyone looked toward him.
Noah realized he had perhaps spoken too boldly to two wealthy guests and his manager.
Then Harrison nodded.
“He’s right.”
